Description
Enjoy the world of colorful birds and learn the correct use of action words (verbs) as the birds chirp, cheep and squawk throughout various short stories.
Out of the Beaks of Birds-Our Crazy, Pesky Verbs is designed for teachers, parents, grandparents, and caregivers to use with both preschool children as well as those in early elementary grades. Older Children who can read will also enjoy the stories.
Five different varieties of birds are used in the stories; each story focuses on the use of a certain verb. The verb tenses are printed in the color of the bird. Information about each of the five birds is included along with pictures and internet links to bird songs. Children, and maybe even adults, will hear and see the correct ways to use crazy, pesky verbs.

This book is so well done! So cute, too. The kids won’t even know they’re learning.

If you like kids and language–and not necessarily in that order, you’ll want a copy of Cindy Klickna’s new children’s book, “Out of the Beaks of Birds: Our Crazy, Pesky. . .Verbs.” Jane and I ordered four of these handsomely illustrated, well written books for our two goddaughters, a five-year-old boy I mentor, and a little girl whose name was on a tag we drew from our Church “Christmas Giving Tree.” As one who loves language, active verbs, and the “Oxford English Dictionary” and Strunk and White’s “Elements of Style,” a look through Klickna’s book convinced me that fun object lessons one finds in her book remain effective teaching tools. I think our youngsters, all under the age of eight, will want to make their book a keepsake. Klickna was kind enough to honor a request to inscribe them for each child. Highly recommended.

A darling book, it teaches AND delights any lucky listener (or reader). A “must have” for the complete home library. Very VERY special!

This book is such a great, fun, and repetitive way to provide practice with both irregular verbs, and the past participle. Love the color coding. The illustrations definitely add to the story. The photos and details of the 5 birds at the end of the book are a great bonus as well. Watching birds is such a delight! This book is a treasure.

Kids will love this book and will read it over and over. It is clever and fun and a appeals to a wide range of ages. Younger children who might not care about the verbs will adore the story. It will definitely be a keepsake. The illustrations are beautiful.

What a fantastic book! Not only is it educational, but my grandchildren LOVE all of the colors and different types of birds. They learn without knowing they are learning. Very well done!
